Aina Aduial (You know you're a nerd when you dress your kid up like an elf for Halloween and then you write a weblog entry using Tolkien's Elvish for the title.)

Here's what you've all been waiting for, I'm sure: a picture of Istra in her Halloween costume, standing looking bewildered at "Hey Good Cookin'" restaurant. Tim and I met up there after work to grab a bite to eat before heading to the west end to rendez vous with Nada, Gis and Max for much promised Halloween festivities.

Apparently last year, Nada's neighbourhood went all out, with haunted houses and graveyards and whatnot. This year... not so much. The highlight of the evening was probably Max's snakes, which he repeatedly held up for all to see, quoting "Ssss!" in a very impressively serpently sort of way.

Oh, there was also this head on a stake. Interestingly, the head-on-a-stake people did not answer their door. Apparently, unlike most of their neighbours, they meant this goulish display as a warning and not an invitation.

As always, click to see the complete set of pictures.
