I have to check out of here by 10:30 tomorrow morning. Thus, I will have to lug my gear all this last conference day, until I dash for the 6pm train (still not 100% sure which bus it is). Most of my stuff is organized and ready to go.
Dean's mom cooked me dinner again tonight. I forget what it was called, but it was Persian. And once again pretty great. Dean's mom was not home by the time I managed to get out of the conference and across town; she left the food out for us, as she went to her Ismaili mosque, as she does every day. In fact, I learned, it is a special week at the mosque in which members are encouraged to come in at 3:30am each morning for an hour of silent group meditative prayer. So she was planning on going to bed a bit early. She told me it is a part of her tradition that prayers made before the sun's rays crest the horizon are the most spiritually powerful (perhaps because everything is so still and focused at that time).
Alas, now, I must sleep."
